Alice Zhong is the chief accounting officer and treasurer for DeVry University, responsible for leading all accounting and controller functions including general accounting, treasury, financial reporting, audit activities, accounts payable & receivable, and risk management, among others. She establishes University policies and procedures, and ensures compliance with accounting principles, University policies, federal, state and local laws and regulations. She previously was the University’s controller and partnered with operation teams to help provide exceptional support to our students and colleagues. As controller, Zhong implemented a formal diversity vendor supplier program to help support DeVry’s diversity, equity and inclusion commitments. She continues to serve as the treasurer of the DeVry Scholarship Fund and is a member of DeVry’s Colleague Caring Fund.
Prior to joining DeVry, Zhong was the assistant controller with the Hub Group, an innovative end-to-end supply chain solutions provider, and spent more than 14 years at Enterprise Rent-a-Car, where she held various management roles for different locations across the U.S., including Virginia, Indiana, Washington/Alaska and northern Illinois/Chicago, culminating as the assistant controller overseeing all functions within corporate accounting. While there, Zhong designed and implemented efficient and effective rental car registration procedures and conducted financial and operation audits to help maintain strong internal controls for adherence to laws and company policies.
Zhong earned her bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and her Master of Accounting degree from Old Dominion University. She is also a certified public accountant.
