Graduate Admissions Requirements

General Keller Graduate School of Management Admission Requirements

If you hold a bachelor’s degree from a University-recognized institution, you are eligible for graduate school admission to Keller. If you are an international student applying from outside the United States, you need to hold a degree recognized as equivalent to a U.S. baccalaureate degree to be eligible for admission.

As all instructions and services are provided in English, you also will need to fulfill Keller's English-Language-Proficiency Requirements, as listed in the Graduate Academic Catalog.

Get Credit for What You've Already Done

At Keller, your educational and professional experience matter. When you consider graduate school admissions and enrollment with us, we want you to use all of your transferable skills and credits. Using a combination of approved transfer credits, course waivers and/or credit for professional training, you may satisfy multiple course requirements in a particular degree program and accelerate the journey to your Master’s Degree.

Course Waivers

You may be eligible for course waivers based on evaluation of courses completed in your bachelor’s degree. You may also be eligible for course waivers based on completing a bachelor’s degree in business or technology. Students who receive waiver credit in their program of study do not need to take these courses or substitute courses.

The University’s admissions representatives and Graduate Academic Catalog can provide further information on leveraging your prior learning experience.

Course Waivers for Advanced Degrees or Credentials

If you have earned an advanced degree (Master’s, M.D., J.D., Ph.D.), hold a CPA license or have passed applicable parts of the CPA exam, you may be eligible for course waivers.1 Those who hold a CMA certification or have passed part of the CMA exam may also be eligible for course waivers. These waivers reduce the number of courses you must take in your Master’s Degree program at Keller. 

Transfer Credit

If you are enrolled in a degree program, credit may be transferred from other University-recognized graduate schools. To receive transfer credit, the following criteria must be met:

  • The course or courses taken were for graduate credit while you were enrolled as a graduate student.

  • The course or courses taken are equivalent to a Keller course in content, level and credit hours.

  • The grade or grades earned were B or better.

  • The course or courses were completed within the 10 years preceding initial enrollment at Keller.

  • Courses taken on a pass/fail basis may not be transferred. Transfer credit reduces the number of courses you must take, and correspondingly reduces your costs, but does not affect grade point average calculations.

Transfer credit is limited by the residency requirement. Other restrictions may apply as noted in the Graduate Academic Catalog. 

 

 

Credit for Workforce and Military Training

The University awards transfer credit, as appropriate, based on recommendations of the American Council on Education College Credit Recommendation Service, which evaluates work force and military training programs to determine their comparability to college-level learning. To earn credit, students must meet minimum ACE requirements, such as earning the minimum recommended score or higher for certification or training programs. Course Substitutions

If you have extensive academic or professional experience, you may be able to substitute one or more courses by submitting a request, along with required documentation, to a Student Support Advisor. Course substitutions do not reduce the number of courses you must take to earn your degree; however, you may choose additional electives in your area of interest if all prerequisites are met.2 The type of documentation required to verify relevant expertise includes, but is not limited, to academic transcripts, a detailed job description or evidence of relevant licensure/certification. The number of course substitutions a student may receive is determined by the academic administrator who reviews the request.
