Cost of Attendance

Your cost of attendance (COA) is an ESTIMATE of the expenses you may encounter while attending DeVry University. Your COA includes direct expenses such as  tuition and fees, books, course materials supplies, and equipment, and indirect expenses such as living expenses, transportation and other miscellaneous personal expenses associated with your DeVry University education.

Although the actual cost of attending DeVry University varies depending on your particular circumstances, the University bases your financial aid on your estimated COA. The chart on the right outlines an estimated COA for a full-time standard tuition undergraduate student’s academic year. The COA will vary based on your enrollment status and tuition rate.

What is included in college tuition?

College tuition charges include the cost per credit hour you are enrolled in for that semester.

Additionally, as a student at DeVry, you have access to the following benefits:

Is college tuition per semester or year?

At DeVry, tuition and fees are billed on a semester-basis.  A full year of classes will coincide with 6 sessions, or 3 semesters. Financial aid is disbursed to eligible students each session between weeks 2 and 5.

Does anyone pay full price for college?

recent study by the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) found that only about one in four full-time undergraduate students paid tuition without any financial assistance, grants or scholarships as part of their degree program costs last year.

How do most students pay for college?

There are many ways to make higher education more affordable for students. Scholarships, grants, transfer credits and prior learning credits may all help reduce the cost of tuition for eligible students.

What are the major college expenses for students?

The major college expenses for students include:

  • Tuition: The fee charged by a school for instruction. Tuition can vary depending on factors such as location, subject area and type of institution.
  • Books and Supplies: Reading materials/tools required by your instructor or professor.
  • Equipment: Technology required to complete coursework, i.e., a computer. For specific programs at DeVry, students will receive a complimentary laptop for educational purposes.3 Speak with an advisor to learn more.
  • Transportation: The costs associated with traveling to and from your campus location if you are not a 100% online student.

Are my tuition and expenses different if I attend online vs. on-campus?

At DeVry, the cost of tuition is the same regardless of whether you attend classes online or on-campus.
