Keep in mind that these career options may not be available at all employers. Job titles and job requirements are not standardized across the healthcare industry. For example, while you may meet the requirements to apply for a Medical Services Manager position at one company, it does not mean that you will meet the requirements for that position for all potential employers.

^Students who hold an undergraduate business degree, a technology degree or a degree with a technology specialization may be eligible to waive up to three courses (nine credit hours). Students with undergraduate degrees in other disciplines may also be eligible to waive select courses upon review of their undergraduate transcript. Course waiver availability varies by location. For more information, please refer to the Course Waiver section of the Keller academic catalog.
The primary difference between an MBA in Health Services and a Master's in Health Administration is found in the coursework for each degree program. All MBA programs are business-focused, so an MBA with a healthcare specialization would include both health services and business courses to provide a well-rounded education. A Master's in Health Administration focuses almost exclusively on healthcare administration related topics and would also feature the words "Health Administration" on your degree.
The main prerequisite to enroll in the Health Services MBA specialization program at DeVry are a bachelor's degree in a related field, and a proficiency in math and verbal skills. Please visit our graduate admissions page for more information.
Yes! You can earn your MBA with a Specialization in Health Services online through DeVry's Keller Graduate School of Management. This makes it a great option if you have a job or family commitments that may make it more challenging to devote time to in-person courses.
Some of the benefits of earning an MBA with a Specialization in Health Services include adding a graduate-level credential to your resume, which may help you stand out to potential employers. Another benefit is that the business education that an MBA offers can help you prepare to pursue additional career paths that may not be available to those with only a healthcare-focused degree.
1Eligibility and application of course waivers varies based on the type of course waiver credit earned, the student’s enrolled location and/or the student’s state of residence. For more information, please refer to the Course Waiver section of the Keller academic catalog.
